My unit lesson is "Interview with my grandparent". It is designed for 12th grade, Advanced Spanish. They will conduct an interview with a grandparent, present it to the class and we will pick the winners, which will have a special presentation at the end of the semester/course. As special guest, if possible, we will have the interviewed grandparent. All this, of course... in Spanish!

What do you think you know about your grandparents?
What questions do you wonder about your grandparents’ lives in a different country?
What questions are you planning to ask your grandparents to learn more about their past?
What have you learned about your grandparents’ past lives and how do you think that has influenced your own life?

THESE ARE MY ORIGINAL UNIT QUESTIONS:
I would like to use these questions to plan a unit lesson for my advanced classes in high school.
SPANISH
EQ:
Why are people always on the move?
UQ's: Choose one of your grandparents (or the oldest person in your family) and ask him/her to answer these questions for you:
Where did you live before coming to this country?
What main reasons did you have to leave your family and come here?
CQ's:
Can you tell me a little about your childhood in your country of origin?
What are the things that you miss the most, if any?
What are the things or situations that you think are better here in the USA?
Note: If the person you are interviewing is not an immigrant, please ask them to tell a story they know about his parents or grandparents.
I would ask them to write the story in English, polish it and then translate it into Spanish. I consider these questions of great value that would involve both the student's skills both in English and Spanish.
